This is more than worrying! Most people will agree the subject needs a debate - but this in parliament was NOT IT! It was nothing like the debate that's needed. The subject needs proper exploration!

Canada is cited as an example of the "slippery slope" - with more people now "eligible" for assisted dying than when it was legalised. Do we need to ask - what would stop the UK from going the same way?

Assisted dying - David Cameron says - isn't about ending life. Rather, it's about "shortening death." The former PM - who has now been made a peer - has changed his mind and will support legalising it.

This subject - termed Assisted Suicide by the writer - is a Biggy for sure. There're so many facets which need exploring and debating. But to rush at this, given the state of medical care as it is - would be wrong!

SHOULD THE GOV'T LET US DIE?
A bill is to be voted on in parliament - to allow SMPs to decide whether people should have more choice about when and how they die. Do we need to ask - is this about autonomy – or something else?
