It’s become clear recently that ChatGPT is seriously flawed. I suggest that, rather than referring to it by the label put on it by its creator, we call ChatGPT what it appears to be – not Artificial Intelligence, but Synthetic Stupidity.

Sentient sounding machines were unveiled to us in the 1968 sci-fi film  classic, "2001-Space Odyssey".  How do we test for sentience, as it seems scientists don't know?  It could be necessary to answer this question.
