Few argue against a need to face this issue - to work out a way in which people can die on their own terms. But the gov't seems in a panic to adopt a pathway few want. Why the rush? Wide debate is called for.

The doctor is right - this Assisted Dying Bill is up there with Brexit. The subject is worthy of a fully detailed and naturally lengthy debate to Get It Right. So why is the gov't trying to Fast Track it into law?
